This is a very famous brazilian saying coming from a TV advertisement. In it, a consumer comes into a store and see a new refrigerator with a nice design and full of places to sort things inside. The issue is that the refrigerator wasn't a 'Brastemp', a very high quality brand in Brasil.
Thus, the advertisement said "It looks like (a Brastemp)... but it is not"!
Many people have asked us if the Montezuma's Revenge has attacked us. The Montezuma's Revenge is some sort of half joke half serious related to the diarrhea that some foreign tourists suffers when in South America. The joke part (I suppose you got the serious part by now) is that this is a revenge from the europeans conquestors from some centuries before.
One of the best ways to avoid it is to keep your hands clean but sometimes, the issue is that it can come from the things you are eating and drinking. So answering the question, yes, Montezuma has attacked us.
It is also said that one of the main sources of it could be the water (and consequently, raw products such as salads, washed in this same water) so we have been very carefull with it just buying industrialized water and washing salads with purifying pils (the taste is not as good but at least we know that it is clean).
When we had the Montezuma's attacks we thought that we were eating the wrong things or drinking the wrong water but even changing it, the attacks continued. Until we found that what was causing it (at least for me and Juli) wasn't the water but the milk! Once we stop to drink certain types of milk, the revenge stopped as well.
As the advertising said, it looks like but it wasn't!!
